“And then one day you find, 10 years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun” – Pink Floyd
New year. Another year older. Time to reflect even more, on diet and exercise. Having always been a firm believer in the latter, I have been a little lax with the former. However, this needs to change. What better place to start than with bread.
I had always been of the opinion that Naan is best made with Maida and that if you want Whole Wheat, go for Tandoori Roti (recipe here) but given that our kids love Naan and Naan can be repurposed for wraps (recipe here) I decided to give Whole Wheat Naans a try. A web search yielded a recipe on the King Arthur flour website (recipe here). It looked interesting so I decided to give it a try.
Uncharacteristically for me, I did not mess with the recipe. The only variation I did was that I brushed the rolled out Naans with Olive Oil, then topped them with minced garlic and Kalonji (Nigella seeds). The result? Pretty darn good. The kids liked them a lot. This one is a keeper.
