Sauteed Asparagus with wilted Spinach in a Soy/Balsamic Reduction

Sometimes a recipe sounds better than it tastes. Here is a case in point – Sauteed Asparagus with wilted Spinach in a Balsamic/Soy reduction. The back story here is that I had some asparagus leftover along with some fresh spinach. We were having Pizza for dinner and we always supplement Pizza with some veggies, usually a salad. This time, instead of making salad, I decided to do something different.

So I heated up some oil, threw in some sesame seeds and garlic, then asparagus and sauteed on high heat till it seared slightly. Added some soy sauce and balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper and cooked the whole thing. Then just before turning the heat off, added some spinach leaves and let them wilt. The resulting concoction was decent but no cigar. In its defense, the kids ate it up without complaint. However this recipe needs more work. If you have suggestions, bring them on.
