Waste not, want not

We sometimes use Greenling.com for organic groceries. Though expensive (though that come down with coupons and Groupons), it is a convenient service with good products. As part of their marketing, they send out a weekly newsletter. In the last one was a very useful pdf that I thought I’d share with you.

According to Greenling, Americans waste about 25% of produce they buy. A lot of the wastage is because the produce is incorrectly stored. If there is any truth to this stat, it is a ridiculous level of waste. I know we are a first world country and all that, but it doesn’t mean that we have to behave wastefully. Anyway, they had a nice document about the best way to store different types of produce that I thought I’d share with you. This is definitely worthy of printing and putting on your kitchen notice board.
